Making it easy for you to choose Northern Health.
To encourage physicians to practice in rural areas, various programs and incentives are offered by Northern Health and the government of British Columbia.
This is a one-time incentive for physicians recruited to fill current or pending vacancies:
One-time incentive for physicians who agree to serve two years in a specific rural community:
One-time payment of $100,000 for a commitment to work for three years in a designated rural community.
Registration is now open for the Rural Physician Mentoring Program, aimed at physicians relocating to rural BC for the first time. The program pairs experienced rural family physicians and specialists (mentors) with relocating physicians (mentees). Both receive CME credits. The program is offered through the Rural CPD program, part of the University of British Columbia's Division of Continuing Professional Development. Get more information for mentees and complete your mentee application form now – spaces are limited.
