Amgen Multi-Therapeutic update

Learning objectives:
Recognize the centrality of LDL-C and its cumulative exposure to increased risk of ASCVD
Evaluate the limitations of current lipid lowering agents and assess recommendations for lipid lowering agents beyond, or in addition to, statin therapy for high risk patients
Identify those patients who would benefit from additional therapy beyond statins to reduce CV risk
Explain the latest clinical data for PCSK9 inhibitors and use effective strategies to integrate the data into clinical care to reduce the risk for CV events
Appropriately apply best guideline practice recommendations into routine clinical practice based on specific patient characteristics
Identify clinical and diagnostic risk factors which further increase the risk of fractures in post menopausal women
Apply evidence-based management protocols to prevent future fractures in post menopausal women
Assess patients on treatment for occurrence of side effects and select appropriate therapies based on the patient characteristics
Identify social, clinical and diagnostic risk factors which further increase the risk of fractures specific to male patients
Apply evidence-based management protocols to prevent future fractures in male patients
Assess patients on treatment for occurrence of side effects and select appropriate therapies based on the patient characteristics
Incorporate the history of prior fractures in determining future risk
Assess the risk of falls as a major and independent risk for fractures
Consider patient preference when selecting long term treatment
Explain the importance of adherence including avoidance of drug holidays in high risk individuals
Correctly stratify patients by the severity of their psoriasis and distinguish moderate to severe psoriasis from mild psoriasis (paying attention to scalp, face, palms, soles, genitals and nails).
Identify psoriasis as a systemic disorder that often requires systemic treatment.
Confidently manage moderate psoriasis patients
Establish treatment that considers potential co-morbidities in patients with PsO.
