The session will feature Dr. Caroline Shooner from Haida Gwaii and is specifically targeted to rural health care providers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic

Agenda:

  • Review an airway management algorithm for a patient who is COVID-19 positive
  • Review a team-based approach to caring for patients with airway compromise
  • Discuss potential pitfalls when intubating very sick patients, and how to mitigate these pitfalls
  • Provide a checklist to assist rural physicians with the occasional airway emergency
