I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Barbara Kane to the position of Medical Lead Mental Health Program effective June 1, 2018.
As Medical Lead, Dr. Kane will be responsible for establishing a quality agenda and framework for the Mental Health Program in order to implement leading practices. Dr. Kane will work closely with the Executive Lead, Michelle Lawrence to co-lead the Mental Health Program.
Dr. Kane is a Consulting Psychiatrist at UHNBC. She obtained her Medical Degree at the University of Western Ontario. She has a Fellowship in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Until recently, she was the Department Head of Psychiatry at UHNBC; a position she held for a number of years. Currently she is a representative for the BC Psychiatric Association Northern Region and an Examiner for Psychiatry at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
