Effective immediately.
The mononucleosis test currently used in Northern Health laboratories is in short supply again and the vendor will not be able to fill orders until the middle of November.
In the event that labs are unable to perform the mononucleosis test locally, they will automatically order an Epstein Barr virus (EBV) test which is tested at the BCCDC laboratory in Vancouver. Turnaround time is approximately 7 – 10 days.
