Produce change and drug discontinuation

The issue: Sodium bicarbonate 8.4 per cent X 10 mL pre-filled syringes (PFS; Pfizer) and 5 mL vials (Fresenius Kabi) have both been discontinued in Canada. The only alternate option is sodium bicarbonate 8.4% in the 50 mL vial format, which will need to be used for crash kits and in wardstock areas going forward.
