The Issue:
Odan has issued a voluntary, type 3 recall for one lot of lidocaine 12 mg/dose endotracheal spray. This recall is due to a potential for the dispenser to leak. Type 3 recalls are defined by Health Canada as unlikely to cause adverse health effects. This recall has now contributed to a national shortage of the product, which is on backorder until at least July 2025. NH supply is low and conservation measures are needed to prevent a stock out.
