Drug Shortage and Recall Update: Ranitidine 25 mg/mL X 2 mL injectable

The Issue: NH pharmacy has received notice from Pharmascience (PMS) that their brand of oral ranitidine 150 mg tablets have demonstrated compliance to Health Canada requirements for NDMA limits and are cleared for distribution and use.

Availability: Tablets are currently available at the hospital in Prince George, and will be available at other NH facilities within the following week. NH pharmacy has approximately 6 week supply of tablets based on historical use. Until other manufacturers return to market, there may be ongoing supply constraints on PMS product due to increased demand.
