The Issue: Due to ongoing supply issues with clindamycin vials (both the Sandoz preservative-free vials and Pfizer vials WITH preservative), NH pharmacy has brought in two ready-to-use products which will likely become routinely stocked going forward:
- Clindamycin 12 mg/mL X 50 mL bag (600 mg/50 mL; preservative-free in D5W)
- Clindamycin 18 mg/mL X 50 mL bag (900 mg/50 mL; preservative-free in D5W)
The Sandoz preservative-free clindamycin 150 mg/mL X 2 mL vials will be intermittently available; however, expiry dating may be poor. When available, these vials will be provided to prepare doses for neonates.
