The Northern Health Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) program has posted the annual report for 2017/2018
Usage of targeted antimicrobials has decreased across all HSDAs over this past fiscal year compared to the usage seen last year. Although we saw a slight increase in antimicrobial drug costs this fiscal compared to last fiscal, the cost per inpatient day remains the same, indicating the increase in overall costs being due to more inpatient admissions this fiscal year.
This summer the Antimicrobial Stewardship program achieved full compliance during the 2018 Accreditation site survey without requirements for further evidence submissions.
