Northern Health’s Physical Activity program is currently leading a Health System Redesign project with northern physicians piloting a suite of tools developed collaboratively by BC Health authorities.
The goals of the tools are to:
- Translate the concept of physical literacy into health language
- Clarify the relationship between physical activity, physical literacy, and health
- Guide supportive, evidence-informed conversations that align with patient status, needs, and interests
Guidance tools for health care professionals
- Physical activity and physical literacy: Early years (Birth to 4 years)
- Physical activity and physical literacy: Children and youth (5-17 years)
- Physical activity and physical literacy: Adults (18-64 years)
- Physical activity and physical literacy: Adult Seniors (65+)
