BC Diagnosis Codes (BCDX) were implemented to establish patient prioritization and wait time targets across BC.
The BC Diagnosis (Dx) Codes are regularly reviewed and updated based on surgeon utilization and/or the expressed need by provincial clinical groups. The latest update of BC Diagnosis (Dx) Code will accrue in the booking system on April 1, 2022. Please see attachments for further information.
Assignment of appropriate BC Dx codes is vital for waitlist management and booking of procedures appropriately. It is important to distinguish between adult and pediatric codes
Please see the BC Diagnosis code surgeon information note for more detail.
