Day 1 is online to review principles and manage numerous challenging cases that you might see on your next shift. Day 2 is hands-on to practice the skills discussed in Day 1. Cases, demonstrations, then supervised hands-on practice. This course covers tons of pearls and pitfalls with hand injuries – where misdiagnosis and maltreatment abound for ED physicians and practitioners. Review anatomy, understand how to examine for tendon injuries, and see a demo of a tendon repair, and then it’s hands-on practice. Nail-bed lacerations, vermillion border injuries, pinna, eyebrow and other facial lacerations. Proper ED splinting and dressing will be reviewed in detail. Numerous suturing techniques. Hand infections, fractures, amputations, approach to major hand trauma and deep wounds. All will be covered in this practice-changing 2-day course.
