Define the importance of applying trauma informed age appropriate care as the guiding principle in the care of the newborn exposed to substances during pregnancy.
Review the principles of the Eat, Sleep and Console Care Tool.
Recognize the importance of employing non-pharmacological strategies to support the newborn exposed to substances during the acute period of withdrawal.
Recognize the need for a standardized pharmacological management protocol to decrease the length of pharmacological intervention and hospital stay.
