Add to my calendar 2022-09-22 18:30:00 2022-09-22 20:30:00 TUFH workshop - Engaging methods for teaching health policy Using health policy to improve health outcomes, participants will learn to evaluate the role of health policy in addressing a population health issue of importance to their community. Participants will be supported to develop a health policy brief and brainstorm health policy solutions to their own local health priorities. Finally, participants will be introduced to a clinical case used to inspire students to consider policy implications when delivering care. Presenters will give an overview of the curriculum, demonstrate teaching methods used and describe the challenges and lessons learned so others can successfully adapt to their own curriculum. Speakers: Dr. Irene Agostini, Chief Medical Officer  Dr. Danielle Albright, Sociologist and Director of death panel review team  Dr. Karen Armitage, Pediatrician, RWJ Health Policy Fellow  Gabe Campos, JD, Director of the Office of Diversity Dr. Cameron Crandall, Emergency Medicine physician and expert in strangulation Dr. Amy Clithero-Eridon, Director of Health Policy and Systems  Gail Starr, RN, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Learning objectives: Describe health policies connected to community health priorities. Demonstrate the ability to compose an effective health policy brief to advocate for community health priorities. Evaluate health policy implications on patient care and health care practice.
