In response to the provincial health officer’s recommendation to mitigate acute care transfers for LTC residents when appropriate, the Provincial Transport Emergency Operations Centre partnered with LTC stakeholders to develop a person- and family-centered approach to support Treatment-in-Place versus ambulance transport to the local Emergency Department. This work resulted in the implementation of a Clinical Care Pathway and 911 Transfer Algorithm.
