Overview: The Consortium for Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (CLIC) is a group of faculties from medical schools around the world who have or are considering developing, implementing, and studying the longitudinal integrated clerkship model to address core clinical training for undergraduate medical education. In the LIC model, students care for a diverse panel of patients whom they follow across multiple clinical settings over extended periods of time, in lieu of traditional block rotations within discrete specialties.
Hosted at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on October 27-30, CLIC 2019 will explore current ideas and innovations from medical education communities that have embraced Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (LICs). This conference will dig deeper into how distributed community-engaged learning and research benefits communities in both rural and urban areas.
This year’s theme of “Disruption” will push participants to look beyond the now, and explore innovative LIC structures and pedagogy. Previous participants have referred to CLIC conferences as “unlike other conferences”, and “a place of debate and deliberation”. If you are passionate about advancing clinical education and patient care, we hope to see you at CLIC 2019!
Who Should Attend: anyone with stakes in clinical education, be it LIC enthusiasts or first-timers, preceptors, faculty, staff, residents, and students.
