Prof. Dept of Dermatology and Skin Science, UBC Dr. Jason Andrade, MD, FRCPC, Cardiac Electrophysiologist VGH Learning objectives: Discuss priorities in treating depression Discuss new treatment options for depression Discuss barriers to managing depression in primary care   Identify the role of vaccines throughout the continuum of care Differentiate levels of vaccine hesitancy and utilize tools to communicate the impact of vaccine-preventable infections on a patient’s quality of life Discuss the importance of adherence to immunization schedules, including vaccines that are not yet routine or part of the universal public health   List the signs and symptoms of atopic dermatitis Diagnose patients presenting with these features Appropriately treat acute flares of atopic dermatitis Develop long-term management and maintenance strategies Establish counselling and communication practices to optimize self-management and ongoing disease control   Recognize that the risks of AF, stroke, major bleeding are all increased Describe that DOACs are as effective in older patients as they are in younger patients with AF, with a risk of major bleeding that is similar to or less than that of warfarin Explain the importance of follow up and close monitoring of renal function in elderly patients on DOACs Integrate the individual values and preferences of elderly AF patients into shared decision making on anticoagulation How to join: Registration required https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_mO9GN8vzTk64wuNLqPtZ5Q  For more information please contact val.bernales@pfizer.com. Learning objectives:

  • Discuss priorities in treating depression
  • Discuss new treatment options for depression
  • Discuss barriers to managing depression in primary care

  • Recognize that the risks of AF, stroke, major bleeding are all increased
  • Describe that DOACs are as effective in older patients as they are in younger patients with AF, with a risk of major bleeding that is similar to or less than that of warfarin
  • Explain the importance of follow up and close monitoring of renal function in elderly patients on DOACs
  • Integrate the individual values and preferences of elderly AF patients into shared decision making on anticoagulation
