UBC APLS: The advanced pediatric life support course

Please join us virtually for APLS: The advanced pediatric life support course. This course is intended for experienced clinicians involved in care of critically ill children. Participants are recommended to have previously completed at least one PALS or APLS course successfully.

Learning objectives:

• Assess and manage critically ill children during the first hours in the emergency department
• Review simulation team-based crisis resource management principles and take part in high fidelity simulation-based pediatric resuscitation scenarios and skills stations
• Discuss some core content objectives presented in didactic style
• Discuss topics including initial assessment, PALS life support, airway emergencies, respiratory failure, shock, maltreatment, ER radiology, surgical emergencies, trauma, transport, and toxicological and metabolic emergencies
