MAiD2019 will be chaired by Dr. Ellen Wiebe who has been at the forefront of assisted dying in Canada and is a co-founder of CAMAP. CAMAP is a national not-for-profit medical association whose mission is to support MAiD assessors and providers in their work, educate both the public and the health care community about MAiD, and provide leadership on determining medical standards and guidelines. We expect our conference will once again draw a large, multidisciplinary group of attendees including family physicians, medical specialists, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, legal counsel, administrators and policy makers. Our inaugural conference in 2017 drew over 150 attendees. MAID2018 in Ottawa last spring grew to over 270 registrants and included a number of national partners on our podium (CMA, CMPA, and Health Canada). We expect to attract a large, diverse audience for MAiD2019 as it will then be 3 years since MAiD became legal in Canada. Interested to become a CAMAP member, please visit the CAMAP website.
