Please save the date and join for this exciting event.  Speakers: Dr. Adam Fowler Dr. Peter Lawlor Dr. Shane Murphy Dr. Morgan Lam Dr. Alyson Stone Learning objectives: Review the burden and diagnosis of delirium in the palliative care setting ​Discuss current evidence around antipsychotic and nonpharmacological treatment of delirium in our setting Discuss new research into classic opioid options Discuss new opioid options appearing in the palliative care setting, or which may not have yet been widely adopted Determine the basic pathophysiology and various etiologies of the symptoms we will be covering in this talk (pruritus, rectal tenesmus, hiccups, cough, hyperhidrosis/night sweats, lymphedema) Develop a quick approach for medications and other interventions to consider when treating the above symptoms Review the mechanisms of and evidence for classic anti-nauseants Discuss new(er) options for nausea management Discuss the unique features of palliating patients with non-malignant renal disease Discuss recent qualitative research into goals of care in an Ontario oncology centre Explore the relationship between goals of care and disease course in this cancer population How to join: Registration required https://ubccpd.ca/learn/learning-activities/course?eventtemplate=167-ubc-division-of-palliative-care-cme-day after registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the login information to join.
