Issue: Scopolamine 1.5 mg transdermal patch has been discontinued in Canada. NH has low supply on hand across all facilities. Scopolamine transdermal patch is indicated for prevention of motion sickness and is also used off-label for respiratory congestion in palliative care.
The Issue: The framycetin/gramicidin/dexamethasone (5 mg-0.05 mg-0.5 mg/mL) eye/ear drops (Sofracort®) are on backorder by the sole manufacturer, Sanofi. NH has approximately 8 weeks of supply on hand in pharmacies.
The Issue: All NH supply of moxifloxacin 400 mg ready-to-use (RTU) injectable bags expired on April 30th, 2022 and replacement stock is not currently available to order. An estimated resupply date is unknown at this time.
Resolution: Nicotine 10 mg cartridges for inhalation are now available in good supply and this drug shortage can be considered resolved.
Resolution: Ondansetron 4 mg oral disintegrating tablets (ODT) are now available in good supply and this drug shortage can be considered resolved.
The issue: Remifentanil 1 mg vials are currently available only in reduced (monthly) quantities from the sole source vendor in Canada, Sterimax.
