Dr. Faiza Jabbar has worked as a psychiatrist at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) in Prince George for almost ten years.

The issue: Heparin 10,000 units/mL X 0.5 mL vials are currently not available to order and ETA for resupply is scheduled for April 2022; however, this date may change. NH has approximately 4-6 weeks of supply left in pharmacies and wardstock locations.  

The issue: Ondansetron 4 mg oral disintigrating tablets (ODT) are currently not available to order and NH pharmacy has low supply. Some sites may stock out of this strength before the get well date.

The issue: Pfizer has announced a shortage of the LifeShield™ calcium chloride 100 mg/mL (10%) X 10 mL pre-filled syringes (PFS) and will soon be unable to meet NH usage requirements.

The issue: Pfizer has issued a voluntary recall of several lots of propranolol extendedrelease capsules (Inderal-LA®; 60 mg, 80 mg, 120 mg, and 160 mg strengths) due to the presence of impurity N-nitroso-propranolol above the acceptable concentration limit.

The Issue: Due to the shortage of Canadian-labelled hydralazine 20 mg/mL X 1 mL vials from SteriMax, Health Canada has authorized the importation of a US-labelled product. NH pharmacy will soon have supply of this USlabelled product available for use in NH facilities.

The issue: Methotrimeprazine 25 mg/mL x 1 mL injectable is a single source item from Sanofi-Aventis who has indicated the drug is not currently available to order.
