There is a drug shortage of sodium bicarbonate 8.4%, 10ml PFS. The alternate being provided on the crash cart is sodium bicarbonate 8.4%, 50 ml vial.

The UHNBC Pain Clinic is now accepting new referrals. The average wait time is approximately one year, with shorter wait times for priority referrals.

The VP of Medicine, Dr. Ronald Chapman, has released a memo to all Northern Health physicians with information on the flu clinics in Northern Health and instructions on how to self-report.

There is a national drug shortage of nabilone capsules - all strengths (0.25 mg, 0.5mg, 1 mg), all brands. The capsules are on backorder due to a shortage of the active ingredient for production. 

Anticipated availability: November 2017

As of Tuesday, October 17, 2017, requests for antinuclear antibody (ANA) testing will be performed using a new method. A guideline for interpretation will be attached to all results.
