Please join us for an online session on "Personal Health Records in the Rural Contexts".The session will be led by Dr. Bill Clifford. Dr. Bill Clifford was formerly a full-service family physician who spent most of his career working in Northern British Columbia. He is passionate about the use of technology in support of high-quality care and a learning health care system. Finding no satisfactory solution for his own office, he built his own EMR in 1990 which spread across BC and was eventually donated to a non-profit organization. Bill has had many other health care roles including CMIO of Northern Health, co-chair of the BC Health Information Standards Standing Committee, co-founder of the Health Data Coalition, site lead for informatics in the Prince George Family Practice Residency program, and longstanding board member of the Prince George Division of Family Practice. Since semi-retirement in 2019, Bill has continued work on health information standards such as the BC GSSO standard, information modeling and various terminology subsets. He is also working with the Rural Coordination Centre of BC to foster vendor agnostic development and implementation of standards-based personal health records.This session will be moderated by Dr. Gordon Horner.
