Northern Health is implementing enhanced COVID-19 precautions at Peace Villa in Ft St John, following lab confirmation of a single COVID-positive case in a worker at the site. Communication with Peace Villa staff, residents, and families is underway.

Eligible Physicians are invited to indicate their interest in the following position:

Issue: Dipyridamole oral tablets in all strengths (25mg, 50mg, 75mg) have been discontinued from the single source vendor with no direct alternatives available in Canada.

The Issue: Tobramycin 0.3% eye ointment x 3.5g tubes is on backorder from the only manufacturer in Canada.

NH Stock Status: NH has very little remaining supply at this time.

Anticipated Availability: Mid to late January 2021.

On the evening of November 20, all Northern Health MOIS’ will be upgraded to MOIS 2.26. Two changes with this update will affect providers directly:

Currently when there is an apheresis platelet collection instrument alarm due to a possible out of range platelet count, a sample is taken and shipped for platelet yield testing and the platelet component is held until results are received.

BC Cancer in collaboration with the Doctors of BC General Practice & Health Authority Colposcopy Leads have been working on ways to reduce wait times and improve adherence for women who need colposcopy.
