Product Change: NH pharmacy will carry the adult size of Charac®-50 (activated charcoal 50 grams per 225 mL bottle) as regular stock for all locations.

The issue: Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) 50% intravesical aqueous solution is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals with no other suppliers available.

Anticipated availability: Resupply date is being consistently delayed. Current ETA mid-January 2020.

The issue: The single-source manufacturer of pre-mixed heparin 25,000 units/500 mL D5W bags is on back order with no alternative vendors available.

Anticipated availability: Late February 2020 to early March 2020.

Starting December 16, 2019, all Canadian hospitals are legally required to report adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and medical device incidents (MDIs) to Health Canada within 30 days of the event being documented in the hospital.

As previously communicated, all oral ranitidine products in Canada have been recalled due to the presence of an impurity, NDMA.

The shortage of capsaicin 0.025% cream X 60 gram tubes is now resolved.
