Issue: After a recent drug recall affecting all stock on the market, attapulgite (Kaopectate®) 40 mg/mL oral suspension has now been discontinued in Canada. NH does not currently have any supply on hand in any facilities.

Northern RACE (Rapid Access to Consultative Expertise) is an advice line to support primary care providers in Northern BC. Northern specialist physicians will provide telephone support for non-urgent, patient-related questions.

Issue: After being on long-term backorder for approximately 2 years, chloroquine 250 mg tablets have now been discontinued by the only manufacturer in Canada. NH does not currently have any supply on hand in any facilities.

Resolution: The shortage of acetylcholine chloride 10 mg/mL (Miochol®-E) ophthalmic drops is now resolved.

The Issue: Due to ongoing supply issues with clindamycin vials (both the Sandoz preservative-free vials and Pfizer vials WITH preservative), NH pharmacy has brought in two ready-to-use products which will likely become routinely stocked going forward: 

The Issue: Conjugated estrogens (Premarin®) 0.625 mg/g vaginal cream X 30g tubes are on backorder with intermittent availability for the remainder of the year. NH pharmacy has low supply remaining and will stock out shortly.
