On September 13, 2021, the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) announced that all employees, medical staff and other service providers who work in identified care locations in the health sector will be required to be fully (two doses) vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 26, 2021.

The Issue: Sandoz recently recalled several lots of losartan oral tablets (25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg) due to the presence of an azido impurity above acceptable levels for long term use. The majority of NH supply has been affected and several sites now have no stock.

The Issue: famotidine 10 mg/mL X 2 mL injectable is on backorder from the sole source vendor in Canada. NH has approximately 8 to 10 weeks of remaining supply in pharmacies and patient care areas.

Anticipated Availability: End of October 2021

The Issue: fluorescein 1 mg ophthalmic strips (Diofluor®) are on backorder with anticipated intermittent availability from the sole source vendor in Canada. NH pharmacy has low stock, and several sites have already stocked out.
